Maroun Ras: Day of death at Lebanese-Israeli Border
All started as a commemoration. Busses, food, chanting, derbekes. We arrived to Maroun Ras alter 4 hours driving from Beirut. Some youth went out of the path and start running to the border…they are not aware there are mines on the way. Chanting and stones are thrown to the Israeli soldiers hidden between and electric fence and a forest. Impossible to be reached by stones. We hear the first shooting. The first martyr has less than 20 years and is from Ein el Helwe camp next to Saida. The second one 14th. Continue reading

Today around 6 pm Lebanese time took place a demonstration pro-Bashar in front of the Syrian Embassy…a guy was puncturing his finger to give more credibility to his chanting “with our soul, with our blod, we belong to you ya Bashar” and pouring his blood in a poster of Bashar. I finally had time to do some editing of the pictures. They are not great but I hope they will help you better picture how things were on the ground. I lost a memory card with 500 pics or more, from day 9 and 10th of the protests, then some of the story is missing.
