Ayatollah Hussein fadlallah's Funerals at Haret-Hreit, 6 June 2010

Tens of thousands came to mourn the Marjaa. Floods of sadness enveloped in black and chanting “labakak Fadlallah!” (we belong to you Fadlallah). The marjaa’s body was buried in the Husseinein mosque where each Friday he led the midday sermon. His coffin left his house accompanied by tens of thousands that escorted it through the place where 25 years earlier a tentative of assassination against his person orchestrated by the CIA resulted in the death of 80 Lebanese.
